Tata DoCoMo to offer Wi-Fi connectivity in Connaught Place from July

Come July, and visitors to New Delhi’s Connaught Place business district will get free Wi-Fi connectivity from Tata DoCoMo for up to 30 minutes, thanks to a tie-up between Tata Teleservices Ltd and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). For further use, users in the 4 sq. km Wi-Fi hotspot can purchase data packs.
Tata DoCoMo already offers similar Wi-Fi hotspots at New Delhi’s domestic and international airports, Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Stadium, hotels like Le MeridienThe Leela and Crown Plaza and Bluebells School International.
Several telecom operators provide Wi-Fi hotspots across the country. Vodafone India Ltdprovides Wi-Fi at Gurgaon’s Belvedere Rapid Metro Station, while Videocon Telecom has tied up with Huawei for hotspots in the Punjab circle. The Karnataka government has launched free Wi-Fi hotspots called Namma Wi-Fi at M.G. Road and Brigade Road and several other locations in Bangalore.
