The Micromax Unite A092 which ought to be the first model in the series has gone on sale in India nearly a month after the Unite 2 was launched. The phone is priced slightly lower than the latter phone, at Rs 6,490 and is available for purchase online.
While the A106 smartphone and many others offer Android 4.4 KitKat at the same price range, the Micromax Unite A092 comes with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which isn’t too old either. Nevertheless, the phone continues to offer a wide catalogue of native languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Marathi, Nepali, Kashmiri and Sanskrit amongst others. It also comes preloaded with Getit, Kingsoft suite, M!Live and Opera applications as well as the Reverie Phonebook and Smartpad tools for saving contacts and predictive typing in local languages, respectively.
The handset is sized at 4 inches wide with WVGA visuals and it offers dual SIM card slots with 3G support on only one card. A 1.2GHz quad core Snapdragon 200 processor has been fitted on the inside to do the heavy lifting and there’s an entire gigabyte of RAM. For hoarding content, 8GB of internal memory is provided and a microSD card slot which supports up to 32GB. A total of 5 hours of talktime or 140 hours of standby on 2G networks can be achieved through the 1500mAh battery.
