Apple has announced that a new 16GB iPod touch has been added to its lineup and it tags along a 5MP iSight camera as well as a lower price tag. The previous version of the music-centric device didn’t have a rear-facing snapper and was retailing for around Rs 18000. What’s more, the company has reduced the cost for other models in the series too.
The new 16GB iPod touch model has also gone official in the US along with the price cut for the other versions. Additionally, the company was only offering the device in a single shade, but now plans to sell it in hues of pink, yellow, blue and space grey as well. The iSight camera on the rear is the same 5MP sensor found on the aged iPhone 4 and it’s accompanied by an LED flash.
While the lowered rate of the 16GB model looks to be small, the 32GB and 64GB iPod touch variants have received substantial drops in their retail tags. The new prices are Rs 20900 and Rs 24900, respectively. Prior to this, the former was tagged at Rs 23900, while the latter was selling for Rs 29900. From the entire series, only the fifth generation is eligible for an update to iOS 8 and seeing as Apple has added a new model to the lineup, we don’t expect to see anext generation iPod touch to be launched this year.
