While BlackBerry has reiterated its commitment to produce smartphones with hardware keyboards, not many other manufacturers are putting any weight behind phones with physical keypads.
Intex hopes to buck the trend with the Aqua Qwerty, which the company has launched for Rs 4,990. The Aqua Qwerty as the name suggests sports a full keypad not unlike something we have seen on the new BlackBerry Q5.
The phone packs a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and comes with 512MB of RAM. In that sense, it’s very much a low-end phone. It runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Thanks to the QWERTY keypad, the phone has a small 3.5-inch display, which is quite unlike some of the new launches. Intex says the slab-shaped keypad and curved edges make it convenient to operate with one hand.
