Online retailer Flipkart has launched a new offer to promote the sales of Moto G smartphone in India. Under the new promotional scheme, buyers stand the chance to win a free shopping voucher worth Rs 1 lakh and 100% cashback on the purchase of the handset between April 13 and 17.
In order to participate in the contest, buyers need to answer whether Moto G runs on Android or not. They are required to send the answer along with their order number via SMS to the phone number provided by Flipkart by April 30. Winners will be announced on May 7 on the e-commerce company's Facebook page.
Only one buyer will be given a free shopping voucher worth Rs 1 lakh, valid up to April 30, 2015. The voucher will be applicable only on products sold by WS Retail on Flipkart. Another 100 buyers will be given 100% cashback on the price of the handset; the 8GB variant of Moto G costs Rs 12,499 and 16GB is priced at Rs 13,999.
In case a customer sends a SMS twice, only the first answer will be considered as the entry for the contest. If the order is cancelled or refunded, the entry will become invalid. However, if the Moto G unit delivered to the buyer is replaced for some reasons under Flipkart's 30-day replacement policy, the entry would still be considered.
This is not the first offer Flipkart has started to aggressively promote the sales of Moto G. The online retailer earlier had a buyback offer on the smartphone, deducting Rs 2,000 from the price of the device if buyers exchanged an old phone.
Moto G, which is available in India only via Flipkart, has a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 5MP rear camera, dual-sim functionality and the latest version of Android, named KitKat.
The device comes in two storage options, 8 and 16GB; it does not support microSD cards, but offers free 65GB Google Drive storage.
