Pocket Patrol is designed to help Australians locate the position of rip currents along with other hazards like submerged rocks and shallow sandbanks, that on-duty surf lifesavers have identified at selected patrolled beaches.
It’s a completely new way to learn about beach safety using the latest in augmented reality and smartphone technology.
Pocket Patrol has been developed by Samsung in partnership with Surf Life Saving Australia and is currently being trialled on selected Sunshine Coast beaches between October 21st and November 13th.
