That's not all. Thanks to the Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy connection, the Chipolo is completely wireless, its replaceable battery lasts up to 6 months and even has an integrated temperature sensor.
Of course we had to make sure the Chipolo was as friendly to the environment as possible. The case and packaging are fully recyclable and the internal components are produced according to international standards and regulations.
It's international. The first batch of Chipolos will ship worldwide and should be on its way in early December 2013.

To take full advantage of Chipolo’s temperature sensor, a unique feature, we’re introducing the Chipolo Thermometer App, which will also be available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play at the end of the campaign.
The app will feature:
- current temperature display
- 24 hour temperature log + graph
- alerts (when temperature goes below or above set value, temperature deviation)

How We Developed It
After months of research and countless whiteboard sessions we took the paper sketches and started designing, programming and constructing the first Chipolo prototype.
We used the latest high quality electronic components, fully supported by manufacturers. After various attempts and constant improvement we successfully completed the final, working and fully tested hardware prototype.
In the mean time our designers created the casing. Chipolo's optimized design is produced with carefully selected materials and designed with delicate precision.
Finally, after plenty of persistent team work - beautiful design and sturdy electronic components fit together like a puzzle.
We Need Your Support!
The idea was born in December 2012. The Chipolo was created from our personal desire to feel comfortable about our belongings and minimize the time spent finding lost items.
We were determined to bring the Chipolo to its highest level of efficiency, perfected design and a series of fully tested prototypes.
At this point we really need your help. With the funds collected from pre-orders we will be able to acquire a large volume of top quality components, launch production and supply Chipolo at the lowest possible price.

The Chipolo Team
- Jure Zdovc - Hardware engineer - Electronics hardware design and hardware programming. He is responsible for firmware development and upcoming hardware updates.
- Domen Plaskan - Hardware engineer - Hardware testing and debugging. Domen is responsible for electronics production, assembly and final testing.
- Domen Barovič - Graphic Designer - App, product and graphic design. He is responsible for overall product design.
- Andreas de Reggi - Software engineer - App development. He is responsible for mobile app development and bringing new features to life asap.
- Primož Zelenšek - Product manager - App wireframe design and product design. Responsible for team management and final product assembly.
- Tadej Jevševar - Market analyst - App wireframe, Market research analysis and product testing. His responsibilities include updates to our social media profiles, replying our backers and promoting our product.
- Huck Hensley - Business advisor - Legal affairs management. Huck is responsible for worldwide market research and trademark registration.
