Titans of Space® for Cardboard
Titans of Space® is a short guided tour of our planets and a few stars in virtual reality. Works with Google Cardboard.
Important!
What's Google Cardboard?
Features
Add-Ons
Some other things to know:
Important!
• Devices with a Mali-400 GPU are experiencing problems. (Includes some Samsung Galaxy S3 models and several others). Working on a fix if possible.
• A powerful modern phone will give you the best results, not only with smooth framerate but also headtracking latency. Additionally, shutting down other background tasks may help with performance. To give you an idea of what to expect, this experience runs at 50-60 FPS for the entire tour on a cool Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.3 and minimal background activity.
What's Google Cardboard?
• Cardboard is a lowcost, easytoget virtual reality viewer that transforms a phone into a basic VR headset. Learn more about Google Cardboard at g.co/cardboard. Buy or build your own at https://www.google.com/get/cardboard/get-cardboard.html.
Features
• Everything is toy-sized for easy comparison of scale -- all objects are shrunk down to 1 millionth of their actual size.
• The tour is carefully paired with a beautiful and dynamic soundtrack.
• All sizes are to scale (1:1000000), but distances between objects are not.
• Although the tour is on rails, you can enjoy full control over the pace and depth of the tour though a multitude of options.
• No form of input is necessary to experience the full tour, but a controller is recommended for comfort. The next best thing is to use a phone with NFC support with a Cardboard headset that has a magnetic switch.
• Your cockpit will display informational text at most tour stops. There are sometimes additional pages of information with extra detail. If you've been wanting to catch up on what's new in our Solar System, this is a great place to start!
• Translated into multiple languages. Some portions of the experience are still in English, and this is not the fault of the translator(s) as I just didn't have the text ready for them at the time.
• 50 minutes of narration / voiceover is now available as an add-on. To purchase this option, find the Narration panel in the green Options menu during the tour.
Add-Ons
• The Narration add-on is now available! Includes 50 minutes of narration for the entire tour. Male voice only for now, with a female voice coming soon. The narration is in English, and includes English subtitles as an option (off by default). To purchase this option, find the Narration panel in the green Options menu during the tour.
Some other things to know:
• Built using Cardboard SDK 0.4.5. This should improve app stability for some devices, and an experimental drift correction mode is now an option that you can select when starting up the app. Note that this drift correction is great for devices where the scene just keeps rotating and rotating, but if you already had a stable view it may make things worse with a "floaty" feel to the head tracking. Hopefully you will find a mode that suits you!
• Your view may occasionally jump suddenly -- I'm still not sure what is causing this, but I suspect it simply depends on the quality of the sensor data coming from your device. Will keep looking into this.
• If you ever need to reset your "forward direction", simply tilt your headset (with your phone in it) on its left or right side.
• Note that the tour isn't over yet after you've finished touring the Solar System.

Vanguard V is a fast action VR experience that takes you on a journey from the low orbit of our planet, down to the very core. Designed for VR from day one, Vanguard V is a celebration of control, design, and amazing music.
Production of this title is a collaboration of eight team members. Much of the talent was sourced from dedicated people in the reddit community. From voice acting to chip tune music, reddit has been instrumental in making this VR experience a reality. The power of the internet is truly amazing.
Vanguard V is an all-new Virtual Reality action game that takes the best aspects of flight and adventure. Driven by music, story, and innovative VR design, Vanguard V is a celebration of gameplay to welcome Virtual Reality to the world.
You play as Qu, who has tracked the parasite menace from worlds afar and with the help of her A.I. companion, BiT, is fighting to save the planet's inhabitants from utter annihilation. Fly in low orbit while re-entering the atmosphere, skim the waters of the ocean, dive into the tunnel from the initial impact and make your way to the center of the planet to exterminate the source of the parasite infestation. Lock on with your VR targeting system and blast through the alien threat!
Virtual Reality
is a new frontier. I believe in VR so much that I'm risking everything, leaving a safe industry job and bringing together a small group of experienced game devs I've worked with in the past to create something that we're all passionate and excited to make.
Going indie takes a lot of hard work. You have to handle hardware, licensing, software, coding, everything. With that responsibility comes the freedom to make a pure gaming experience that is only bound by your imagination and dedication.
This is a game studio in the making. A studio not only supportive, but dedicated to titles designed for VR from the very beginning of production. We are comprised of a small group of industry veterans and a collection of talented individuals discovered through the wonders of the internet, that are all excited to bring you this fun and immersive title.
It is a joy and honor to create games for everyone to play. With Virtual Reality soon to hit the masses, game developers have an opportunity to connect to the players in ways previously impossible. I couldn't be more excited than I am right now to make games.
Beyond the foundation of the game's development - 3D art, design, and code, which is developed locally - the extra talent contributions have been made possible by reddit. The voice work, script writing, cover art, and much of the music have been produced by individuals I recruited through reddit. With reddit, I've found some fantastic talent who will help really bring this title to life.
The contributions you provide will fund the developers and the talent who, up until now, have all donated their time and energy without any financial gain. While this is a great testament to how much we love and believe in this title, it's still a strong limiting factor on how far we can take the game's production.
But it's not just the cast and crew that believe in this project. Sony and Oculus have been fantastic at ensuring that we have the tools and hardware that we need to bring great VR to the masses.
It is our goal to have Vanguard V finished by the launch of the Sony Morpheus and Oculus Rift and available on Mobile VR platforms.

A bare bulb casts a dim light around you, its flickering efforts providing the only sound in the stark room. Your seat cracks and creaks under your weight as you perch uncomfortably in its worn recess. The light from the bulb flickers again, casting you into darkness longer this time, before coming back to life...for now.
You look around the room to discover a barren state of occupation; the only sign of life is a cigarette that burns, seemingly forgotten, in an ashtray on the desk. Across the room, through the heavy mix of smoke and dust, a cone of light shows the way to the room’s only door, which sits slightly ajar.
The light flickers and struggles again, before giving out with a final snap and plunging you into darkness.
The light from the door is broken as a shadow passes. SLAM.
Now the door is shut. You can sense breathing, too close. You switch on your torch, to find only emptiness and silence. Your battery can only illuminate the scene for so long before you’ll be forced to face the dark again...
Warning: Not for those with heart conditions or underlying health concerns.
...you're on your own

Tuscany Dive
Head Tracking Virutal Reality Demo
Tuscany Demo from Oculus Rift SDK for Android
Welcome to Tuscany!
Explore the beautiful Tuscany using the OpenDive / Dive glasses.
In this demo, you can move with a controller. Alternatively, you can look on the ground to activate or deactivate the auto-walk.
With a touch on the screen you can turn on more graphic effects. But therefore a powerful smartphone is required! A realistic impression is created by the use of headphones, and without disturbing ambient light.
The level is from the Oculus SDK and it is designed for more computing power than a smartphone can offer. So the frame rate can suffer.

War of Words VR
Britain’s greatest war poet prepares you for battle…
‘War Of Words: VR’ uses virtual reality to take you back to 1916, and into a mindset captured by Siegfried Sassoon in his controversial poem ‘The Kiss’.
More poets and writers fought in the Battle of the Somme than in any other in history. ‘The Kiss’ was written just before the Battle of the Somme, while Sassoon was on an army-training course. “The bullet and the bayonet are brother and sister”, Sassoon was told during one particularly bloodthirsty lecture, “there’s only one good bosche, and that’s a dead one…”
This experience is designed for Google Cardboard, Durovis Dive, ImmersiON-VRelia GO, VRase and other virtual reality phone mounts. Place the phone in the viewer upon launch of the app. Headphones are recommended.
The viewer will be presented with a circular button - by looking at it you will activate the ‘War of Words VR’ experience. After the performance, play again by looking at the 'Play Again' button.
The poet describes preparing a rifle for battle. Following the bullet fired from the rifle will lead the viewer to the second part of the poem. The 'kiss' described by the writer is a metaphor for the act of bayoneting an enemy soldier.
‘The Kiss' is an extract from BBC TWO’s ‘War of Words: Soldier-Poets of the Somme’ - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04pw01r
War of Words VR’ is brought to you by BDH (http://www.bdh.net) - a BAFTA and RTS award-winning digital design & direction agency based in UK, in collaboration with BBC Arts. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts)
