If you’re looking for a handy gadget to take self-portraits or a compact camera for your next adventure abroad, zoom in on the COOLPIX S6900. Designed with a vari-angle touch screen monitor, it lets you take a range of pictures, from quirky selfies to breathtaking landscapes at various angles, effortlessly. It also comes with 12x optical zoom and 24x Dynamic Fine Zoom*1 so you can capture amazingly high quality images even on a close-up. Packed with an incredible range of image enhancement options to boost the wow factor in your pictures, the S6900 also allows you to share them on your social network instantly with its built-in Wi-Fi® and NFC*2  support.
Turn every scene into a picture-perfect moment
With 16.76 effective megapixels and a backside illumination CMOS image sensor, the COOLPIX S6900 takes stunning images with exceptional clarity. Its 12x optical zoom (25mm - 300mm equivalent in 35mm format) and 24x Dynamic Fine Zoom*1(approximately 600mm equivalent in 35mm format) means you can get up close to your subject and capture all the magic in the details. Target finding autofocus minimises effort on your part, as it automatically focuses on the subject you’re aiming at.
View life from new perspectives
With the new 3-inch vari-angle touch screen monitor, you can now snap away from a diverse range of angles and compose truly unique images. Self-portraits are just as easy to capture with the all-new front shutter-release button. If you prefer a selfie beyond arm’s reach, take advantage of the improved Evolved Gesture Control. It tracks your palm when you’re in front of the camera, so you can enjoy a convenient, hands-free way of capturing self-portraits in both stills and videos. The COOLPIX S6900 even comes with a built-in camera stand so you can take pictures with more stability. It’s time for “ready, steady, shoot”.
Make beautiful pictures even better
The COOLPIX S6900 comes packed with several new image enhancement options to make your pictures even more impressive. Choose the new Glamour Mode to augment your skin tone or Selective Softening to blur the background and put your subject in focus. There’s also Self-collage, which puts multiple images into one montage as you snap away. To add a distinct touch to your pictures, simply use Stamp and Frame to add unique decorations to the images.
Go from shoot to share in a snap
Transfer your images with ease and share your photos instantly online. Simply download the free Wireless Mobile Utility App for iOS and Android devices to transfer pictures from your camera to your smartphone wirelessly*2. All it takes is a touch of a button to switch on the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi® or pair your camera with a NFC-compatible smart device. It’s a camera made social – and social made easy.

A new way to shoot and enjoy photography

The S6900's 3-inch vari-angle monitor lets you discover new photographic possibilities, enabling you to shoot anything from high-angle overhead shots to low-angle children’s perspective images. Gesture control lets you shoot photos or videos simply by waving your hand in a pre-set direction. There’s even a built-in Camera stand and Front shutter button. See the world in a new way, and be part of the scene.

Explore your creativity

Shoot more expressively appealing portraits and selfies. With Glamour mode, you can monitor the live image and choose from 4 effects (Skin softening, Powder, Soft, Saturation) on the touch screen to apply to an image before shooting. While in Glamour mode, you can have fun making a Self-collage of 4 or 9 shots fit together into a single photo with one-touch ease on the screen. You can also select from 12 Glamour retouch effects to apply to already-shot images. What’s more, there are stamps, frames, a Selective softening effect, 12 Special effects, and 33 Quick effects to showcase your creativity.

Share your memories with wireless simplicity

Wi-Fi® and NFC are supported so you can easily transfer photos to a smart device. Connecting to Wi-Fi®* is easy enough with a dedicated button, but with NFC it’s simply a matter of tapping the NFC-compatible device. You can even reserve images for sending to your smartphone or tablet. Either way, it’s a breeze to share your memories on SNS sites.

*This function requires installing Nikon’s Wireless Mobile Utility to the smart device prior to use. This can be downloaded from the application store of each smart device (free).

Intelligent performance in a compact body

Frame your shot exactly the way you like with 12x optical zoom, and bring faraway subjects closer to you using 24x* Dynamic Fine Zoom. Count on the camera to capture detailed images with 16.0 effective megapixels. Even in dark environments, the Backside illumination CMOS image sensor helps to keep images bright. Shoot images with solid results thanks to lens-shift VR (Vibration Reduction), and operation is a breeze with the 7.5 cm/3-in. touch panel LCD. And enjoy shooting Full HD 1080/60i movies with reduced jitter by virtue of 4-Axis Hybrid VR.

*Magnification as calculated from the full-wide end of optical zoom.

Fashionably sophisticated design

Featuring an elegant form augmented by a palette of trendy color choices, this camera will be turning heads even before you say “cheese!”
